Handmade Small Earthenware Mugs by Brickett Davda

from £20.00
sold out

Brickett Davda Small Mugs : H8cm xD8cm

Available in 7 colours. Please use the drop down menu to choose.

Our love affair with Brickett Davda started almost 14 years ago and has never ever waned. Being creatures of habit and of good design, we still use the same mugs (mine is yellow and jay’s is blue) for our first cup of coffee every single morning. In fact, apart from my Mum, I’ve never willingly allowed anyone else to drink from my yellow Brickett Davda mug….I do allow them to use one of the others though. We have added to our collection over the years and have never found a better or more beautiful range of tableware. Every single piece is handmade in Jo Davda’s studio in Brighton and each has its own character. The soft but vibrant colour palette is inspired by the colours of the English landscape and as it’s virtually impossible to choose a favourite, the only way is to have a merry mixture.

Because of the handmade nature of the product we only have a limited number in stock but are able to take pre-orders. If you can’t find the colours you want please email us.

And do have a look at the listing for the LARGE mug which is the same shape and perfect for everyday use.

Here’s a little more about Jo and Brickett Davda from her website and I’ll also be posting an entry on our Journal this week.

Brickett Davda produces a range of beautifully simple handmade tableware inspired by a very English palette. The colours reflect the grey skies and the sea of the British coast and countryside, pigments that are calm and serene.

The shapes are conceived and designed from pure, functional objects, cherished and worn by use. The most important aspect of Jo Davda’s work is that every piece inspires and enhances cooking and eating, with friends and family or simply on your own.

Jo studied fine art (BAhons), she started to experiment with clay on the kitchen table, she designed a collection of tableware and Brickett Davda was conceived. Amongst others Jo Davda has produced bespoke ranges for Nicole Farhi, Ralph Lauren, Conran, Kelly Hoppen, Barneys NYC, Heals, Saks, Donna Hay, Toast, Tate Galleries, Bloom NY & a 40th anniversary collection for Chez Panisse in Berkeley CA.
